Natural rubber
Natural rubber is obtained from the latex of the rubber tree. Thus in natural rubber boots such as the Aigle ‘Parcours Vario’ your skin only comes in contact with natural materials. Rubber boots have an appropriate micro climate as well as the ability to soak up sweat. Due to these factors a high-quality product is formed which meets the requirements of the user impeccably.
Further features of natural rubber products are that the boots are soft, supple and flexible, even at low temperatures down to -15° C. Due to its molecular structure it has excellent shock absorbing properties as well as great tear and abrasion resistance. Your feet sweat much less than in conventional PVC boots, too. Therefore these boots are also suitable for prolonged wear without any problems, e.g. for a whole day.

Polyurethane
An alternative to natural rubber boots are our polyurethane boots such as the -Dunlop Purofort +-. Due to high pressure foaming millions of small air bubbles are formed. These make our Purofort boots lighter, more supple and durable than PVC boots. They even retain their elasticity and suppleness in the cold, too. A PU boot is 35% lighter than a conventional boot.

Our range also includes synthetic Wellington boots made from materials such as nitrile, EVA, Vinyl or PVC. Boots such as the Dunlop Acifort are also top products in workmanship and quality, with a high resistance to different fats and oils, as well as limited resistance to petrol, bitumen, ammonia, dilute acids and alkalis. Due to their properties these boots are frequently used for work. They are often made using the injection moulding and thus are seamless and completely waterproof

What is ‘Outlast’?
Outlast® is a thermal material originally developed for space travel. It consists of microscopic balls which are filled with a special wax. The physical state of the wax changes with rising temperatures, absorbing heat energy from its surroundings and therefore slowing down the rise in temperature within the boot. In decreasing temperatures the special wax turns solid again and returns to its original state, releasing the stored heat energy to the body. This helps to ensure a balanced temperature.
Outlast ® is a unique material, which has the ability to regulate the temperature in the boot. Outlast works in harmony with the body and the environment. Because of the unique ability of Outlast ® the wearing comfort of these handmade Wellington boot is increased to a maximum and the sweating reduced by more than 40%.

Guidelines for care and handling of Wellington boots
Wellington boots need care too… Wellington boots should be cleaned of any dirt regularly, especially those made from natural rubber. For this you should use water and maybe a mild soap solution. Natural rubber boots, but also all other Wellington boots, should be protected from drying out as they are then prone to embrittlement/crack formation especially where the boot crease frequently. Please protect your wellies from overexposure to the sun, and equally don’t store your boots in particularly warm rooms (such as boiler rooms).
The need to care for natural rubber boots unfortunately often goes unrecognized. In contrast to synthetic Wellington boots made from PVC for example, Wellington boots with a high content of natural rubber are prone to embrittlement due to lack of care. Like cracks in the ground, as a result of a prolonged drought, the same phenomenon occurs in natural rubber due to it drying out. To prevent embrittlement it is essential to use silicon sprays, oils or other suitable care products. Natural rubber boots undoubtedly offer you the best wearing comfort, but in contrast to synthetic boots need more care, just as for classic leather boots.
If you follow our suggestions you will be able to enjoy your boots for a long time.
You should also know this about Wellington boots
Natural rubber boots are in large part handmade and thus may show slight irregularities which do not compromise the function and do not justify a reason for complaint. Furthermore our experience has shown that customers sometimes have the feeling that their feet are getting wet, but the Wellington boots usually do not show any signs of leakage. This feeling of dampness often depends on the choice of socks. Pure cotton socks, for example, absorb a lot of moisture but don’t release it again which inevitably leads to dampness in the Wellington boot. On the other hand if good functional socks, such as those from our trekking /sport range, are worn with the Wellington boots, these socks have the advantage of absorbing and passing on the moisture. This ensures pleasant comfort in your wellies. Being waterproof, Wellington boots obviously have physical limits to their moisture absorption and can only breathe through their lining to a certain extent.
