Rubber boot lexicon

Interesting facts about rubber boots and much more.

Polyvinyl chloride

Polyvinyl chloride or PVC is a thermoplastic material. It is known from floor coverings but is also used in industry for the production of rubber boots. Rubber boots made of PVC are mainly used as work boots because the material is particularly resistant to acids, alkalis, liquid manure, grease and other external environmental influences. Butchers boots are mostly made of polyvinyl chloride or polyurethane, as PVC is particularly resistant to animal fats and blood.
