Hunter Wellington boots For more than 150 years the British company Hunter has been designing its Wellington boots -affectionately called Wellies- in the Scottish capital Edinburgh. As with the production of leather boots, for Hunter wellies tailored pieces of natural rubber are worked around a shoe cast. The blank welly will then be reinforced in a secret Latex dipping process. After that the Wellington boot body is vulcanised in the oven. The double-layered outsole of the Hunter wellies displays a profile at various angles which ensures high slip resistance. Furthermore the boot is strengthened at the instep; an antibacterial nylon lining and a cushioned footbed provide comfort.
